Welcome. Our names are Dori Jenks and Ralph Kerr aka djnral2.0. Our epic adventures transforming a forlorn 100 plus year old homestead into Dovetail Lodge have been just that - EPIC.
“A long wandering or voyage usually marked by many changes in fortune,” the reclamation of this house is and was truly an odyssey in every sense of the word. For the record, when I dubbed it an odyssey I meant poetically, not literally. Who knew the house would burn down!?!
Truly this much change in fortune is NOT what anyone had in mind. And yet here we are. Left with fond memories of the house we tried to save and two empty lots full of potential to rescue us from our own follies.
We’ve saved every gem to transpose into the new iteration we hope to create on one of those lots. Not the way we envisioned, still the adventure continues.
